Our firefighters, police, and EMTs are indispensable to the safety of our communities. It’s a perilous job, and oftentimes these heroes must perform with limited resources.
When crises occur, our Firefighters, Police, and EMTs put their own lives at risk to save others. They answer the call, rush toward danger, and lead the way.
Through the Gary Sinise Foundation’s First Responders Outreach, we provide help to critical funding for emergency relief, training, and essential equipment to ensure these heroes perform to the best of their abilities.
We also help those that are severely wounded in the line of duty by building 100% mortgage-free, specially adapted smart homes, as well as home modifications, mobility devices, and adapted vehicles to restore their mobility and independence.

First Responder Grant Guidelines: Grants are reserved for Law Enforcement Departments, Fire Departments, and Paramedic or EMS departments. Grant request are limited to Equipment and Training only Building costs, or operating costs are not covered under this grant. Departments that receive grants are barred from re-applying for another grant for a period of 1 year. All First Responder Departments mentioned above are eligible to submit grant applications. However, the Gary Sinise Foundation First Responder Outreach Department prioritizes volunteer, low, and underfunded departments. NOTE for Law Enforcement Departments: The Gary Sinise Foundation does NOT provide funding for weapons of any type.
